I am pleased to introduce this week's featured shop, Pink Snail Boutique, owned by Lisa Egan. She is a talented crocheter, and most recently a pattern writer.
Pink Snail Boutique came to being with the help of my husband and my friends. After leaving my out of the home job two years ago I was able to pick up my crochet hooks again. Soon I was crocheting for friends and getting some outside orders. I decided to turn my hobby into an actual business and take it more seriously. I turned to Facebook and started a business page in December of 2011. I now have shops on Etsy and Storenvy as well as my own website/Blog. I am also the mom to three wonderful children and have a beautiful grand daughter. My greatest blessings are being able to stay home with my two younger boys and embark on another year of homeschooling.
The most challenging thing about having a business is the time it takes to do the unseen work. Advertising, promoting, keeping up to date with the latest trends in social networking. There are times I want to hire someone just to figure out Twitter. Blogs are another challenge for me. I have lots of ideas but being able to put those thoughts to words is not my forte.
My favorite color is Pink. I have a wonderful collection of scrapbook supplies that makes my yarn stash pale in compassion. I do not have a favorite place to shop, rather I have people I enjoy shopping with. No matter where we go we have fun. I enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a cool icy drink during the summer. My favorite season is the fall although living in Southern California I miss seeing everything I love about that time of year. I host an annual family dinner in Early November that we call our Early Family Thanksgiving and my aunts, uncles, and cousins all come together and share one meal a year together. Very special time.
I enjoy custom orders. When a customer has an idea of they want I love to present them with a finished piece.
My biggest influence on my business are my kids. They are also my biggest helpers. They may roll their eyes however they do allow me to use them to try on different things. I love to see smiles on my customers faces. Smiles are my motivation.
