#CreativeDaily March Photo Madness

Its time to announce the photo prompts for March's #CreativeDaily challenge!

On January 1st Cody from Lu & Ed released a photo challenge geared specifically towards makers & creatives called #CreativeDaily. The challenge gives creative business owners a raw, human face - it shows the moments, methods and memories that each maker is made from.

I am super excited to share the release March's prompts for #creativedaily! Join in by snapping a photo that correlates with the dated prompted (IE, March 1st is relaxing) and post it to any social media site and tag it with the hashtag #creativedaily. You can share via Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Google+, etc - just be sure to use the hashtag to connect with the creative community sharing their stories & life through #creativedaily!

Help spread the word about #creativedaily! This image is sized perfectly for Instagram - do download on mobile click the photo, then hold your finger down on the image. An option to save the photo will come up. Then post to IG or social media from from camera roll! :)

Here I will share the Baking Soda & Vinegar Experiment, and the Milk & Soap experiment.

Featured Shop of the Week- Fairy Tale Knits

I'm pleased to share with you our featured shop this week, Fairy Tale Knits, fiber arts shop by owner Dawn. Keep reading to learn more about this shop, get an exclusive coupon code, and enter to win a shop credit!

I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of 4. I love knitting and listening to audio books. I learned to knit from my grandmother when I was 9. I only learned the knit stitch then, but I wanted to learn more. When I was pregnant with my first child I picked it back up and since then I've knitted more and more. Now I'm never without a project. I've taught knitting at our homeschool co-op and to both my daughters and will teach my sons when they are old enough.

Quinoa Beef Stew

Keeping with the quinoa theme for the month of February, I came up with this tasty slow cooker recipe for Quinoa Beef Stew. Its hearty and great for a cold day. Although the recipe does call for meat, it could easily be left out to make a vegetable stew.

I used the following ingredients:

Make a Mini Journal

Our wonderful friend Kelly from Kiser Krafts is back this week to teach us all how to create a mini journal. It makes a fun handmade gift!

Hello everyone!! Today, I would like to share with you how to make your very own mini paper journal. I am in a Crafty Valentine's Day swap and decided to make something special and new for her. So, after some thinking, I designed this idea of a small crafty journal that could fit in her handbag for her to write down ideas when they happen during her day.

Supplies Needed:
1 sheet of 12 x 12 Card-stock - any color (I chose Brown)
6 sheets of 12 x 12 coordinating Scrapbook paper (you could mix it up and not coordinate - free creativity)
paper cutter (if you have one or prefer to use one)
hot glue gun
decorative tape, ribbons, or other fun flare

Featured Shop of the Week- Demon Milk

Our featured shop this week is Demon Milk, owned by Vivien, a clothing and jewelry designer. Read more about her, and then enter the giveaway to win your choice of two items from her shop!

I really love making clothing and jewelry, and I make so many items that I couldn't possibly wear them all myself. Sometimes the inspiration to create leads me far, far away from clothing that I would wear myself. I decided to open a shop so I can enjoy making stuff as much as possible. It's really more like a "self-sustaining hobby" than any thing else. I do it because I love the art that I make and I want to share it with other people.

Team Lu & Ed - collaborations benefitting charity

Our dear friend Cody from Lu & Ed is here to tell everyone more about her collaborative work that benefits a local charity.

I love it when customers ask for new products, but sometimes I can't always fill those requests.

Enter Team Lu & Ed.

I keep a list of customer suggestions. One day I was looking at that list and decided I need to do something about it - so I started reaching out to other artists who I admire for their talent and positive personalities to collaborate with to fulfill those suggestions!

Collaborating is such a wonderful experience. I love working with other artists to make unique, limited edition products and I hope that you enjoy seeing what we scheme up together! Together, me and the artists I am teaming up with are changing the world - proceeds from each Team Lu & Ed product are donated to charity!

Team Lu & Ed proudly supports Drumm Farm Center for Children, with as much as 100% from Team Lu & Ed products going to the group home environment for children in the Missouri foster care system in Kansas City, where I call home. ♥

Here is a run down on currently active collaborations & products you can find in my shop

Cari from makes incredible fur haired fabric dolls & perfectly pleasant handmade fabric fabric hair bows! I was thrilled when she designed two types of bows - a ribbon/bottlecap bow and a fabric bow - to represent Team Lu & Ed! Cari graciously donates 100% of the proceeds from these bows to Team Lu & Ed's designated charity!

This winter Cari & I launched ten fabric, fur hair Mollie Dollies made in Team Lu & Ed colors -  with 50% going to Team Lu & Ed's designated charity! The dolls flew off the shelves and there are just a few left!

Danielle of Squshies makes colorful mini felt characters that can be used as ornaments or soft wall art for kids, and I was stoked when she agreed to work with me to create ten limited edition mini wall art Mon-stors! They were a huge hit, almost totally selling out before the holidays and now there is only a couple left available on clearance in my shop! Scoop one up - $7 from the purchase price goes to charity through Team Lu & Ed

Kelly of Kiser Krafts is a multi-medium artist who creates sock animals and crochet wear. She has designed an adorable crochet Gabos Mon-stor hat! There will only ten of these limited edition Mon-stor hats available, each one made to order, with 50% from the sales price donated -  and there's only four left! EEK! Scoop yours up now to keep your noggin warm!

Holly of Landon's Toy Box is a wood artist who makes ecofriendly hand painted wooden peg people action figures for kids to play with! She made ten limited edition Gabos Peggies and is donating 50% to charity through Team Lu & Ed!

Brittany of Little Green Guy is a multi-media artist who works in water color, sculpting and plush making to create adorable little monster art pieces! She took the concept of my branding and created a unique water color painting which we are offering limited edition prints of that are on sale for $8 off! Perfect decor for a nursery or play room! 20% of the purchase price is donated to charity!
