Featured Shop of the Week- Enchanted Pathways Faerie Nursery

Meet our unique featured shop of the week, Enchanted Pathways Faerie Nursery, and the owner/artist Emmanuelle Nixon.

Welcome to Enchanted Pathways, where the mysterious brilliance of the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun lead curious visitors to the heart of our northern faerie nursery. At Enchanted Pathways, we raise faerie babies from their magical first awakenings in seedpods on the forest floor to full bloom when they grow up and begin to explore the world all on their own. The company strives to show others the importance of always believing in your dreams and never growing up. The nursery is filled with tons of twinkling lights, hanging vines and flowers, there are even crocheted hummingbirds flying everywhere. I encourage other believers and lovers of all things Fae to visit the faerie nursery to play where there is always cookies and apple juice served to guests amongst the bed of rainbow flower petals. And for those that get to visit during the north's long winter months, the nursery is kept warm and toasty by the stove, where everyone gets their own pair of slippers to wear and the apple juice is served warm with cinnamon sticks.

I have always wanted to be a faerie princess. Growing up I was certainly the little girl always dressed in pink frilly dresses. I was given a pink coffee mug and it had written on it ~ Goddess, formally Princess ~ still to this day, I LOVE that coffee mug. When I became a Grandma and I had decided to start my little company, coming up with a name for myself ended up to be quite easy for Amma in Icelandic translates to Grandmother and Amma in mythology translates to Mother Goddess. What a perfect name just for me, Amma Emm to my Grandchildren and Faerie Amma in the faerie nursery.

I have spent over fifteen years living on and off again above the Arctic Circle of Canada's North. I am the creative driving force and chief guardian of the Enchanted Pathways Faerie Nursery. In taking the traditional and mischievous approach of the faeries from Europe and blending with my own creativity, I have nurtured a unique faerie style that I call my own. I am a wife, mother and grandmother who loves to collect children's books, bits of ribbon, rocks and well, anything sparkly.

The most challenging thing about having my own company is staying focused on what needs to be done. It is always fun to create new Faeries but since I live in a very remote location in northern Canada, my company is based on the internet which means keeping up with social media takes most of the hours I need to commit to making sure my company is seen.

My husband has had the biggest influence on me and my company as he believes in the land of Fae and has actually been overseas to study Faeries. I love listening to my husband tell stories of the faeries which he does in the evenings while I am creating. I am fascinated by the names and backgrounds of all the different types faeries.

I am working on a book about the Clay Potters. I had put out a request on my blog site and Facebook page that anyone in the world could join and have a Faerie made just for them. I now have over 30 Clay Potters that love to get into mischief. I think knowing that I have created Faeries for people that I have never met, using their colours and favourite things has been a wonderful experience and I hope that once my book is done that they will love having their own likeness created as a Flower Petal Faerie.

My other inspiration comes from a photo that I had taken over 10 years ago now of a woman that taught me to believe in myself and to love life. Unfortunately, Patricia passed away only 4 years after me meeting her but I keep her picture right beside my computer so I can see her everyday where I know she is watching and guiding me along this path.

I keep creating as new ideas come to me while I am sleeping. It is like the Faeries speak to me and share their wonderful creative thoughts. I love being surrounded by the rainbow colours of the silk flower petals that I work with. It is like being in a garden everyday.

  4. These are just so, so cute. I really like how you use different color themes with each fairy, the use of color is very compelling with the many layers of petals you use.
