Featured Shop of the Week- Yo Sew

Its a new week, and time to feature another talented handmade shop! This week I'd like to introduce you to Caitlin and her shop Yo Sew.

My name is Caitlin, and I am a craft addict. While not crafting, I spend my time dreaming of beautiful fabric, Netflixing with my fiance, and attending college with a major in English education.

I create affordable, handmade gifts that are perfect for that hard-to-buy-for friend or relative, and have a versatility that appeals to everyone.

My love for crafts started young, and I hustled cross body bags in the halls of my high school, which paved way for the Yo Sew you know today. Slightly more legitimate, I operate out of my home and sell online at www.yosew.com.

The most challenging thing I have ran across since owning my business is juggling school, work, Yo Sew, and my relationships. Too often, I focus too hard on one thing or another.

I love bright colors, and tend to always go with magenta, canary yellow, tangerine orange and aqua blue. You can never go too bold or too bright in my book.

I live in Oklahoma, and pretty much every season is the worst, but I love love love summertime in Colorado just after it rains. It's cool outside but dewy and beautiful.

I have an addiction to JoAnn's fabric. I think I keep them in business with my impulse buys.

Nothing gets me going more than 90's Pop, even though I was born in 1993.

When you buy through Yo Sew, you're buying more than handmade. Your dollars support a young educator trying to get her education, and each item is made with love and dedication.

I sew because without a tangible expression of myself, I begin to forget how beautiful and creative my mind can be. After taking a hiatus from all things crafty in order to focus on work, I became stressed and super unhappy.

What changed? I whipped out my sewing machine and began to make things again.

My main motivation is seeing happy customers and pretty, practical things come through my shop. I focus on versatility and vibrant colors, which brightens my day. I love that I am able to share my happiness one item at a time.

  1. I like the Little Critters bag because it's not bright - bright is not my thing - and it has a turtle! It says friends on the fabric, in French. Animals are our friends. :) http://www.yosew.com/products/4870876-all-the-little-critters-triangle-bag
