I am a stay at home mom who loves to sew and create for our family and yours. We are a family of five that is composed of my husband, my self, our darling daughter, the dog, and our one eyed kitty. The name Plum Papaya comes from my family's love of Hawaii. I wanted a fun name that reminded me of that love that was a little quirky.
When we had our daughter it was important for us as a family for me to stay home with her and so for that to happen and for me to continue my expensive fabric habits, I developed Plum Papaya. A craft business of all things that I love.
My daughter will always come first and so sometimes that will bump my creative schedule. What I find to be the hardest is balancing creating and remembering I have to keep the house clean and meals prepared. 9 times out of 10 the house is not as clean or organized as I would like it to be but with a husband who's organizational skills lack that has always been a battle.
My favorite colors are aqua, teal, and purple. I love to create using organic bamboo velour that has been ice dyed and one day I'd like to start dying my own fabrics. I love Hawaii and am fascinated by volcano's and Hawaii's is the safest of them all. My favorite critter to create are my mice. They are the original and will always hold a special place in my heart.
My daughter is my biggest influence and motivation in my life. She loves all my critters. She likes to snuggle them, play with them, and imagine with them. Can it get much better then that? I see life in a new way, a better way since starting Plum Papaya. Ohh that is a pretty color, where or what could I create with that? How adorable is that? Can I make that my way? The smiles on my little one and others keeps me going. That joy is like no other.
I make creatures, critters, and the very occasional quilt. Ready to go items are available monthly at The Whimsy Willows Congo on hyena cart. Updates and sneak peaks for this group of crafty women can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/whimsywillowscongo.
