I started Ivory Isis in March of 2014, after creating some bottle cap pendants for game pieces at my day job. I had previously created hemp jewelry & sold it at a local shop, and wanted to expand upon my ideas, working them into antique pieces of art. I use everything from vintage bottlecaps, keys, and keyholes, to actual pieces of old vintage jewelry that I have refurbished and redone.
I was born into a small farming community in the Ozarks of Missouri. I always loved nature and playing in the mud as a child. I'd make a mud pie, and then come in and make a beautiful piece of art out of finger paints. I always wanted to be an artist. I have a degree in graphic design, (Rose and Roar Design is my graphic & web design business) and my day job in customer service wasn't enough, so I had to find new ways to create!
The biggest challenge is keeping up with the business and finding the ability to keep going even when the profits are not coming in. You have to really want to keep creating even in the face of defeat!
My grandmother's antiques influenced me greatly, and her antique jewelry, as well as my mother's, was exquisite. I realized that you just can't find anything like it today, and I wanted to see more of these pieces, so I started creating them myself!
You can find Ivory Isis on Facebook, Etsy, Storenvy, website, Twitter, Instagram, Blog, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Google+. Tania is offering one fan a complimentary glass cameo necklace!
