Have you been curious about #CreativeDaily? Ready to join in the fun for the month of July? Here are this month's prompts.

Here is how it works:

Each day, you upload a photo to social media that relates to the prompt as you interpret it,  and share a blurb about what the photo represents. Remember to use the hashtag #creativedaily so that other participants can find your photos, and you can make new friends in the community!

The goal of #creativedaily is to inspire people to document their life and indie biz journey through daily photos & snippets of text, encouraging them to fill each day will a little bit of creativity. If you miss a day or few, it's not big deal - this photo challenge is just for fun!

Will you be participating in July's #creativedaily? Which prompt are you most excited about?

Featured Shop of the Week- Bugaboo Bear Designs

This week our featured shop is Bugaboo Bear Designs and creator Amanda.

I'm a wife and Mom of 2 amazing kids, ages 5 and 2. Bugaboo Bear Designs is named after my son. I've been drawing, painted and crafting my whole life and have always looked at it as a hobby. But once I decided to start staying home with my children I decided to open up a shop and make things for others. I truly love knowing that other people appreciate my art enough to hang in their own home.

When you order from Bugaboo Bear Designs you receive the actual handmade piece. There is no printing, copying or computers involved in my designs.

I take great pride in creating all hand lettered, hand drawn and hand painted designs. I love designing sweet, fun and adorable pieces for your little one's room or nursery as well as original chalkboard art and other home decor. I guarantee your piece of art will be made with only the finest materials with attention to detail.

I might be slightly obsessed with Harry Potter, chevron, chocolate and coffee. All of my favorite things. I love modern inspirational design as well.

The most challenging thing is definitely finding that perfect balance between crafting, social media, cleaning, cooking and family. I'm still working on it!

I create because it's what I love to do. Designing art and decor is very relaxing for me.

You can find Bugaboo Bear Designs on Facebook, Etsy, Twitter, and Instagram. Amanada is offering all fans 15% off the purchase in her Etsy shop with code VIOLETBUDS15 (code expires July 6, 2014). Show your WIP

Showing your work in progress is a great way to get fans interested in your products. Everyone loves sneak peeks, or learning how a product is created.

A simple image like the For the Love of Coffee hoop art piece in progress posted to social media outlets can engage fans, especially when paired with a question like "What decoration should I add to the cup?"

Featured Shop of the Week- Rustic Romance Crafts

Meet this week's featured shop Rustic Romance Crafts, and talented owner Kristen.

I started my business in January 2013. I had made a New Year's Resolution to be more creative and a trip to the craft store lead me to purchase burlap to make a Valentine's Day banner for myself. I made one and fell in love with the material. I started making them and selling them on local FB garage sale sites. They were a big hit. I went on to expand to wreaths and other seasonal decor items such as Fall pumpkins and Christmas stockings. In January 2014, I opened my shop on Storevny and in April, I launched my line of wedding products.

Photography Quick Tip - Changing Backdrops

Looking for an easy way to change out your photo backdrop without spending a lot? If you have small objects, like hair clips for example, quickly change out your backdrop using scrapbook paper!

With a setup like I explain in this post, you can easily place a sheet of colored scrapbook paper behind your spacer. Solid colored matte finished paper works best.

Its amazing how much of a difference a simple change of color can make! If you have a medium-size product, try using solid colored poster board for this same trick!

Featured Shop of the Week- Scrawny Girl

I'm excited to feature one of my favorite artists this week, Shawna of Scrawny Girl. I am a huge fan of her art and stickers, you could almost say obsessed. I hope you enjoy her shop as much as I do!

Hi! I’m Shawna Miller, the creator behind Scrawny Girl, where I make kawaii and quirky illustrated stickers, cards, prints, zines, and more! I have a fatal attraction to cuteness, that you can see reflected in my art and everyday life. I’m addicted to coffee, Hello Kitty, cupcakes, manga, and dying my hair.

Show your Mon-stor Love!

I am over-the-moon excited--  my favorite mon-stor maker has launched a limited edition line of tee shirts! The Lu & Ed shirts feature Tibly, the red mon-stor mascot, as drawn by Scrawny Girl! Pick up tee shirts in both kid and adult sizes!

These are limited edition, single print t-shirts, meaning after June 26th they will never be available again so snag yours now!

Adult Tee

To select your size, just choose adult or child size from the drop down menu, then click "reserve" - which opens a pop up window to select size from. Next, choose how you want to pay, enter your info, and boom, your done!
This is a one time print run - meaning this t-shirt design will never be printed again! You won't be charged until the campaign ends on June 26th, and only if the minimum number of shirts are ordered. Let's see if we can surpass the 30 minimum order goal! Tweet, Facebook, blog it-- spreading the word is appreciated!

Kids Tee
If this batch is a huge success, Lu & Ed will be launching a new design with Gabos through a Missouri printer, Tiny Little Monster (how appropriate is that?!).

And if these shirts continue to be a hit, Lu & Ed may release a new design every quarter! Voice your opinion on their blog about which mon-stors you'd like to see on a tee!

Photography Quick Tip

When photographing your product (or any subject matter) it is important to watch the angle of the horizon or backdrop. When the background is slanted, it feels unbalanced, almost like the product is sliding off the frame.

Simply straightening the image (either in the camera or in an editing program) keeps your eye focused on your product.

Featured Shop of the Week- Pelhuaz by Red

Our shop this week has been featured once before (read the first feature here), but we want to show you how Pelhuaz by Red is growing and changing.
Pelhuaz has exquisite indie jewelry. Each piece is made from start to finish with a creative and artistic soul in mind. Even though our jewelry still Simple & Chic, I feel that my designs have grown. It's been almost a year since the opening of Pelhuaz and I'm very pleased with how far I have come.
